Urban area, as a human living place and also habitat for some organisms, is entirely an artificial habitat with buildings, roads, parks, water channels, etc. Parks and green areas can be suitable habitats for different species. But this is no compensation to the destruction and fragmentation of massive natural habitats due to urban expansion. Usually, species which are generalists, can easily tolerate and adapt to the urban environment. Red-whiskered Bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus), Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus) and Short-nosed Indian Fruit Bat (Cynopterus sphinx) are such examples.
