高地 High ground
一般高於海拔500米的地帶稱為高地。香港大部份的陸地以山地為主，山峰的數目超過300座，更有不少高地生境，例如大帽山、馬鞍山、鳳凰山、大東山等等。山坡上散落了不同的植被，有草地、灌木和片斷的樹林。在香港，有不少生物只在高地找得到，例如棘胸蛙、大草鶯和紅楠等。
High ground habitats generally refer to those more than 500m above sea level. Hong Kong is largely hilly and there are more than 300 peaks. Examples of high grounds include Tai Mo Shan, Ma On Shan, Lantau Peak and Sunset Peak. The vegetations on the high ground include scattered grasslands, shrublands and woodlands. In Hong Kong, many species are restricted to these habitats, such as Giant Spiny Frog (Quasipaa spinosa), Chinese Grassbird (Graminicola striatus) and Red Machilus (Machilus thunbergii).
