保護色 Cryptic colour
又稱隱蔽色，指動物體色與其生活環境的基本色調類似，因而便於隱蔽， 以躲避敵害或捕捉別的動物。一些動物更能隨着環境而改變體色以符合背景色。
Cryptic coloration, can allow an organism to match its background and hence become less vulnerable to predation or recognition by prey.
