鹹淡水交界 Brackish
鹹淡水交界包括河口、紅樹林和沿岸的鹹淡水濕地、泥灘等。這類生境不僅是不同水鳥的覓食和棲息地（如米埔及后海灣），亦因有來自陸地的豐富養份和較海洋相對安全，而成為不少海洋生物的「育兒所」。
Brackish habitats include estuaries, mangroves, coastal brackish wetlands and mudflats. These not only are critical habitas for many water birds (as in Mai Po and Deep Bay area), but also nursing grounds for many marine animals because of the rich supply of nutrients from land and the safe environment relative to the ocean.
