榕樹澳位於西貢企嶺下海內灣，毗連西貢西郊野公園，於漁護署的「須優先加強保育地點清單」排名第11位，主要生境為河溪、淡水沼澤、紅樹林及次生林。榕樹澳亦是一個觀鳥賞蝶的熱點。
榕樹澳為郊野公園「不包括土地」，受發展威脅。
Yung Shue O is in a bay of Three Fathoms Cove and adjacent to Sai Kung West Country Park. It is ranked eleventh in the List of Priority Sites for Enhanced Conservation by AFCD. The major habitats are stream, freshwater marsh, mangrove and secondary forest. It is also a hotspot for watching butterflies and birds.
However, Yung Shue O is a country park enclave, facing threats from development.
