紫羅蘭山位於港島南部，屬大潭郊野公園範圍內。紫羅蘭山徑全長9公里，起點為黃泥涌水塘公園側，終點於淺水灣坳。路徑前半段有成熟的次生林及一些溪澗；後半段沿山腰而建，地勢較險要，但可遠眺港島南岸一帶景色。此路徑的植物種類非常豐富，而且平緩易行，是考察本地植物的上佳地點。
Violet Hill is in the southern part of Hong Kong Island and is in Tai Tam Country Park. The Violet Hill Path of 9 km long starts from Wong Nai Chung Reservoir Park and ends at Repulse Bay Gap. The former section passes through mature secondary forests and some streams while the latter section is built around the mountainside, which is a bit arduous, but the scenery of the southern shore of Hong Kong Island can be seen. The path has a very high plant diversity and is rather level and easy to trek. It is therefore a recommended site to study local plants.
