流水嚮位於八仙嶺郊野公園內，附近有流水嚮水塘，用以灌溉附近的農田，並有流水嚮郊遊徑。
水塘附近皆是次生林，較近水塘的是植樹計劃種下的白千層樹。次生林中有淡水河溪，為各種魚類提供住處。
水塘本身因水深足夠，塘底佈滿大小不一的石塊，並因附近人為扞擾較少，故也為各種魚類提供不同生境。水塘有14種魚類，當中包括香港少見的月鱧、藍刀及受保育關注的弓背青鱂。
Lau Shui Heung is in Pat Sin Leng Country Park. Inside is Lau Shui Heung Reservoir, a reservoir built for irrigating nearby farmlands. There is also a Lau Shui Heung Country Trail.
Secondary forests encloses the reservoir, but there are also Paperbark trees from tree planting campaigns. Freshwater strams in the forests are home to many fish species.
As for the reservoir itself, it is deep enough and has rocks of different sizes on its bed, and there is little human disturbances around. These makes the reservoir an ideal place for fish to live. Currently there are 14 species of fish residing in Lau Shui Heung Reservoir, including the uncommon Small Snakehead, Wild Carp and the Rice Fish, which is a species of conservation concern.
