Hung Mui Kuk

生境 Habitats

Site Description

Hung Mui Kuk (literally Red Plum Valley) is located in Tai Wai. Inside is Hung Mui Kuk Nature Trail, with the entrance in a barbecue site.

Trees along the trail mostly have lichen attached, and different fungi and moss ccan also be found. Part of the secondary forests in the area are actually plantation. Trees need to be replanted after the forests were destroyed in WWII. Now they are well-mixed with the natural forests.

Many streams are present in Hung Mui Kuk. They are home to numerous amphibians and reptiles.

The famous Amah Rock is also situated in the area.
