Ho Lek Pui

生境 Habitats

Site Description

Ho Lek Pui is a village in Shatin. It was built a century ago by the Hung family, a Hakka family. Now the village is mostly abandoned. Only two houses seems to still have a resident. There is also a family shrine.

The residents of the village farm flowers and fruit trees for a living, such as shaddocks and bananas. There used to be a large piece of farmland next to the village, but it is now abandoned and overgrown with Ginger Lilies.

Many types of habitats can be found near Ho Lek Pui. Secondary forests surround the village, while farther away is a piece of plantation. Along the hiking trek there are als several streams. Near the peak of the hill are grasslands.
