南風道位於黃竹坑。在南風道及金夫人馳馬徑交界，有一片林地，即南風道林地。
南風道林地為香港島僅存的一片風水林，也就是為了風水而特意保留的林地。該處保留了香港開埠初期便有的原生樹林，不僅有不少極具保育價值的植物，亦是香港錄得最多植物品種的地方，因此香港政府於1993年把林地定為具特殊科學價值地點。林地的植物品種包括黃桐、刺果紫玉盤、柳葉茶等。
2011年，港鐵南港島綫東段動工，有人擔心會破壞風水林，但綫路刻意避開林地，並採取了採用地底隧道設計等措施，故工程的環境影響評估認為對林地造成的影響不大。
Nam Fung Road is located in Wong Chuk Hang. Where it intersects with Lady Clementi's Ride is a piece of woodland known as the Nam Fung Road Woodland.
Nam Fung Road Woodland is the only 'fengshui forest' on Hong Kong Island -- a forest conserved for fengshui reasons. It is a mature forest, dating back to when Hong Kong started its development from a fishing village to a metropolis. Some plant species worthy of conservation can be found there. It is also the place holding the most plant species in Hong Kong. As a result, the Hong Kong government declared it a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1993. Some plant species present there are Endospermum, Spiny-fruited Uvaria and Willow-leaved Camelia.
In 2011, construction of the South Island Line (East) of MTR commenced. There has been concerns of the railway damaging the woodland. Yet as the railway is specifically designed to avoid the area, and as measures such as adopting an underground tunnel deisgn are used, the Environmental Impact Report of the contruction expected little disturbance to the woodland.
